With the current release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies it was only a matter of time before this popular console game crossed over tothe Android platform! It’s a great stride in applications for mobile and tablet devices, and this is coming from a console gamers point of view!

Call of Duty Black Ops Zombies is available on eh Google Play Store. If you haven’t played the console version, the game is a zombie survival first person shooter game. It’s based off the style of the zombie modes in the original Call of Duty console games. The Android version even includes classic maps like Kino Der Toten, and Ascension. One of my favorite games Call of the Dead: Director’s Cut makes it’s appearance on mobile, as well as “Dead-Ops Arcade,” a 50-level wave-based survival game similar to Gears of War’s Horde mode.

Right now Call of Duty Black Ops Zombies is only exclusive to Sony’s Xperia Play and Xperia S. If you have different hardware you are going to have to wait for the 30 day exclusivity period to end before you yourself can fend off the swarm of Nazi zombie horde.

The game is currently free to download, but gives you the option of purchasing CoD points through the app to use for revives and other awesome in game abilities. If your an Xperia S or Xperia Play owner, you hit up Google Play right now to download.

CALL OF DUTY®: BLACK OPS ZOMBIES APP NOW AVAILABLE ON ANDROID

Santa Monica, CA – August 3, 2012 – Call of Duty®: Black Ops Zombies, the fan-favorite app based on the popular Zombies mode from Treyarch’s and Activision’s record-setting hit Call of Duty®: Black Ops, is now coming to Android. Adapted by Ideaworks Game Studio and distributed by Glu Mobile, Inc. in partnership with Activision,Call of Duty®: Black Ops Zombiesdelivers heart-pounding maps: Kino Der Toten, Ascension, and Call of the Dead: Director’s Cut, as well as “Dead-Ops Arcade,” a 50-level zombie gauntlet that provides the ultimate undead challenge for fans of Call of Duty®’s signature Zombie action. Gamers can play solo, or join a team of four players via Wi-Fi as they mow down hordes of zombies using a variety of weapons and perks only available in the Call of Duty® zombie experience.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies on Android is available exclusively for 30 days on Sony’s Xperia smart phones as well as Sony’s Xperia Play Optimized devices including the Xperia Play, with its dedicated gaming keypad, and the critically acclaimed Xperia S and Xperia Ion.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Glu Mobile and Ideaworks to bring the Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies mobile experience to Android, and we couldn’t be more excited to launch first on Sony’s critically acclaimed line-up of Xperia devices,” says Greg Canessa, Vice President of Mobile Development, Activision Publishing, Inc.

“We’re delighted to bring the blockbuster Call of Duty® franchise to Android smartphones and Xperia for the first time. And what better way to make this introduction than with the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies,” said Tim Harrison, Head of Content Marketing and Strategy at Sony Mobile. “There’s nothing else in this world or the underworld like Call of Duty. We can’t wait to unleash Zombies to our fans.”

What is Android ROM Rooting?

Rooting or Android ROM Rooting is a process that’s specifically applied to Android devices. The method of rooting would vary from one device to another and it is typically done by developers and advanced Android users.

Needless to say, Android ROM rooting shouldn’t be practiced by the average Android user. It’s a risky method and is only recommended to those who are knowledgeable enough to tweak the software of their phones or tablets. Even so, there are those who are willing to take the risks. Therefore, it is very important for you to consider the pros and cons of rooting. If you think that you can take the risks, better read on.

Rooting is a matter of preference. One can opt to root while those who don’t will not be required to do so. It’s just that with rooting, the hidden features and functions of your Android device will be unlocked. In other words, you will be able to gain the ‘superuser’ ability that’s usually meant for developers. With this ability, you have the freedom. The freedom to install your preferred type of ROM and the freedom to boost your phone or tablet’s performance. This will come pretty handy especially when the manufacturer of your device has already ceased the support that they used to give to your tablet or smartphone. For example, you want to update your Samsung Galaxy Ace’s firmware from Android 2.3 Gingerbread to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Unfortunately, there’s no official update that will let you do so but if you opt to enable your smartphone’s root access, you can install the unofficial ROM version of Android 4.0 ICS to your phone. Just keep in mind that there is a different method of rooting for each device. You cannot simply apply the rooting method for Galaxy Ace to the Galaxy Nexus or the Motorola Razr. Therefore, you will need to do a little bit of research. Fortunately, there are lots of sites and forums on the web that’s dedicated to such concerns and problems. There’s RootzWiki, XDA Developers, etc.

But that’s not all. Rooting will also give you the ability to make use of custom themes. With custom themes, you can personalize the layout or design of your phone’s UI. You can also have those apps that are only meant for rooted devices. As a matter of fact, the possibilities are unlimited but keep in mind that once you get your phone rooted, you will eventually be voiding your phone’s warranty. Of course, there are ways to redeem the warranty but that can only be done if you opt to revoke your superuser access. However, there are devices that can no longer be reverted back to their unrooted state. You need to be prepared for the possible consequences.

What are the Advantages and Disadvantages of Android ROM Rooting?

If we speak of the advantages and disadvantages of Android ROM Rooting, we can say that it’s a matter of taking risks. Rooting is a process that will give you the ability to tweak your phone with custom themes and ROMs. Even so, it will void the warranty of your device and there is also a possibility for it to be damaged or bricked. So if you are thinking of enabling your device’s root access, better think twice. Try to consider its pros and cons.

The Advantages of Android ROM Rooting

Rooting may not be intended for the average Android users but it can do a lot of things that will boost the speed and performance of your device. It can extend the battery life of your phone, it can make use of custom ROMs (aka customized firmware), it can easily create a backup of your important phone data, it can enable the Wi-Fi and USB tethering features of your device and it can also update your phone’s OS to the latest firmware version. These are some of the settings and features that you can do on your rooted device.

And speaking of custom ROMs, you have to find a ROM that can be installed on your Android tablet or smartphone. You also need to keep in mind that there are lots of untested and error-full ROMs in the market. If you are not careful, there’s a probability that these ROMs will cause a great deal of damage to your device. Thus before you do any rooting, make sure that you have kept a backup of your phone’s valuable data such as your SMS messages, documents, phone contacts, photos, etc. Also, if it’s possible, try to keep a backup of your current ROM so that you can easily reset your device back to its normal state.

The Disadvantages of Android ROM Rooting

Now that you are aware of the advantages of rooting, it’s time for you to be aware of the negative effects that could happen to your phone. Once you opt to enable your phone’s root access, you will automatically lose the warranty that has been granted to your phone. Plus, there’s a great possibility that you could get your device bricked. A bricked device will eventually cease to function and you will apparently be forced to buy a new tablet or smartphone. There may be a couple of ways to unbrick your phone but not all devices can be unbricked. You have to brave enough to face the risks.

To avoid these risks, make sure that you keep a backup of your phone’s valuable data. If you can, try not to do anything that’s way beyond your limitations. Plus, if you are not knowledgeable enough to do the rooting process, don’t hesitate to ask for help.

Plumber, the game in which you’ll plumb!

Magma Mobile has developed a Puzzle game for Android phones known as Plumber. As the name suggest you have to play the role of Plumber in this game. The pipes are in shambles; the water does not circulate properly and need someone to sort it out. Here you will restore the flow of water by using your wits and reflexes. Rotate the position of the various pipes to get fit together and form a circuit which can carry water from one side to another. A Plumber glance may seem simple, but the puzzle will become increasingly difficult to resolve.

The game offers two game modes: arcade and challenge. In both modes the way to overcome the level is to rotate the pipes to establish a path through which water can flow from one side to the other.

∙ In Arcade mode, there will be a water meter that we should empty connecting both sides, because otherwise we will lose. The road passes the water will be destroyed and new parts. If we lose, play to start from scratch.

∙ In Challenge mode, the meter will have three stars (one for each third of the meter). We must end the challenge as soon as possible, since in this way the water will also fill the meter, and the score will be the stars that the water has not covered, so speed matters a lot (the longer we wait, the more stars will plug).

If we combine both modes can have hours and hours of fun, since the game gives us hundreds of levels in 30 worlds and the arcade mode is ”endless.” Still, the game has some problems. First, some devices have difficulty in navigating the game menus. Also, sometimes you get three stars in the challenge mode, yet the game shows you that you got two. Some people also indicate that suffer lag in the menus. Total number of stages in this game is 24.

The game Plumber has been developed by Magma Mobile. It requires Android 1.5 or above OS. The game occupies about 7.2 MB and is completely free (with advertising). You can download this game from Google Play or any other Gaming website. This game is of great fun which will never let you get bored, so download this game now and enjoy.

Archos 97 Carbon- A very Inexpensive Tablet
With the imminent arrival of the new tablet from Google called the Google Nexus 7, all other manufacturers are trying to cope with this new flagship models by making very similar model to Nexus 7.

Same is the case with Archos. Archos has launched its first tab in the market, which is becoming very harder. The name that the Archos has given to this tab is Archos 97 Carbon. It is a very interesting tablet with a very competitive price. Here are some of its features:

∙ Archos 97 Carbon has 9.7 inches of LCD display and resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, which is much better than other tablets available in the market but is similar to iPad 2.

∙ Its Processor is single core which operates at 1GHz.

∙ Archos 97 Carbon has 1GB RAM and internal memory capacity of 16GB and it can be expanded using external cards. You can expand its memory up to 32 GB.

∙ It has two cameras, one front and one rear which will help you to take pictures in any direction. The rear camera is 2 megapixels and the front camera is 0.3 megapixels which can be used for video calling. It can record 1080p video playback.

∙ The material chosen for manufacturing the chassis of Archos 97 Carbon is aluminum instead of using plastic, which is 11.5 millimeters thick and barely weighs around 620 grams. It is very comfortable to carry as compared to other tablets available in the market.

∙ The operating system chosen for Archos 97 Carbon is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with access to all Google services like Play Store, Google Maps, Gmail, etc. It also supports mkv video files and lossless FLAC/APE audio.

∙ Archos 97 Carbon has many preinstalled applications like Office suite, Archos Viewer, and Republic News, Brief Me, etc.

∙ Its Output is HDMI with USB port and micro-USB. This feature will make you import your videos or any other data easily to any other device.

By analyzing these features we can say that the tablet is quite attractive in terms of money. Its release date is estimated to our market this month, with a price to be around $249.99. The company is also planning to launch its version in 7-inch and 8-inch Display.

HTC Desire C-The Little man

A new small terminal has been added to the HTC family, known as HTC Desire. HTC is a Taiwanese company which has unveiled the new HTC Desire C, which adds both power and efficiency. The price that the company has tagged to it is also very affordable.

To be honest, the appearance of the terminal is not very attractive as 90% of its body is made up of plastic, but inside there are big surprises that are quite pleasing, especially in the fluidity of response that is offered by this little Smartphone. Here are some of the features of HTC Desire:

∙ Due to the material chosen for composing the body of this Smartphone, it only weighs 100 grams. You will feel no weigh while carrying it in your hand.

∙ It features a panel of 3.5 inch screen with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels.HTC Desire offer a wide viewing angle for just cluttering the glare.

∙ Despite its high fluidity, Its inside processor is only one core that runs at 600 MHz, This providers very much power to this device.

∙ The battery is an important factor and the HTC Desire C is quite prominence in this. It has the capacity of 1230 mAh. With such a battery back-up, we can use our device for almost two days without getting our phone switched off.

HTC’s powerhouse, the One X, will be even more powerful because of the new AOSP custom ROM available. Reason being is because it’s not just your run of the mill ROM, It’s based upon Jelly Bean! Which in reality means a more faster, smoother performance! The One X having a quad core processor, it just compliments the new blazing fast OS, complements of XDA Developers member, tgascoigne. The best part is not only will your One X be running Jelly Bean, but it will ditch the HTC Sense platform.

Keep in mind the ROM is still in it’s alpha stage. So expect issues and future releases/fixes. Right now the only things not working are the sound, radio, Google Now, and the camera. Hopefully the developers will be able to provide updates and fixes for these soon. While we wait, lets go over how to install the ROM to get you rocking the Jelly Bean OS on your phone!

With the current release of Android’s 4.1 Jelly Bean. The rumors are saying that we will in fact have a limited number of new android devices that will be receiving official updates! Right now though, independent developers are working round the clock to bring the latest updates to as many other Android device owners worldwide! Thanks to XDA developer Sahil_lombar, we are able to update our HTC Sensation’s to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Although the ROM is still fresh off the press, it does have it’s fair share of bugs. With that aside by flashing the ROM onto your phone you will have a good feel on the performance and feel of what It’s like to have Jelly Bean on your HTC Sensation. But the most important thing about this release is the potential of actually having a fully functional ROM in the future!

The current build of the ROM has few non-functioning features, including: Radio, Wi-Fi, audio, camera, light sensors, notification lights, Google Now, and button lights.
