Motorola Droid Razr, Maxx And HTC Rezound To Receive Android 4.0 ICS Update Early Next Week

Owners of Motorola DROID RAZR, DROID RAZR MAXX and HTC Rezound under Verizon will soon receive an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for their devices as the company plans to start the roll out next week. In the past couple of months, Verizon has been telling the people they are working closely with Motorola and HTC about something. It did occur to us that they might be working on an update but we had to evidence to prove likewise. Well, not until today when a screenshot was taken by a technology blog.

TechnoBuffalo was the very source of this report after they published story of the update that would soon be rolled out. Their very evidence was a screenshot in which we haven’t been able to verify if it was real or just another bogus. The content of the screenshot says “Software Updates on Verizon Handsets” and it was allegedly from BestBuy so we think it was legit. But the thing, however, we search for it, we cannot find the page. Our stand is that this report would still remain a rumor unless that page will be available for the people to see.

Nevertheless, the rumor has some truth in it. More than a week ago, the official release candidate of ICS firmware for HTC Rezound was leaked and many of Rezound are actually running on some modified firmware. Having a release candidate or RC means something is about to be released and when it comes to firmware, they would be done over the air. So far, that’s the most solid evidence that a roll out for Rezound will soon happen. As for the Motorola devices, we’ve heard a lot of things from both Verizon and Moto about this upcoming release and we will be able to know if it’s true. So, be patient and let’s wait.
