Velocity Micro, the custom computer manufacturer based out of Virginia, has been toying with Android for a while now and it looks like with the new year the company is preparing to release some new devices. In a recent announcement just days before CES 2012, Velocity Micro has said that they will be releasing two tablets: the 10 inch Cruz Tablet T510 and the 7 inch tablet the Cruz Tablet T507 which they will be displaying at the event.
For an entry level budget tablet the smaller T507 has decent hardware and features a 1.2 GHz Cortex processor, 8 GB of internal memory and 512 MB of RAM. The device, straight from the manufacturer themselves, is going to be powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and will feature a front facing camera (though they didn’t state the resolution) as well as HDMI output availability and will be priced at $150 when it hits the shelves; not bad at all.
The larger of the devices, the T510 has not had a price listed yet but will most likely be comparable to the medium-end tablets on the market. It has a thin 8.9mm frame for the 9.7 inch screen with similar specs as the T507. The resolution was not stated but will most like be 4:3 1024x768p. As with the smaller version it will include Android ICS when it is released.
With CES 2012 only days away more information about the new tablets as well as other devices to be on the market soon will be revealed; be sure to check back here for all the updates!
